
Fashion designer Hiromichi Nakano was born on November 10, 1951, in Miyagi Prefecture. After graduating from high school in Sendai, he joined Nicole Co., Ltd. and Bigi Co., Ltd. In 1981, he joined San-A International, a women's apparel company, and worked in the "VIVAYOU" division. In 1984, he founded the fashion brand "HIROMICHI NAKANO" at the same company. After winning the Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix Newcomer Award, he went independent and established the Hiromichi Nakano Design Office in 1991. He first participated in the Paris Collection in 1998, where his coquettish style became popular. He subsequently expanded his activities globally. In 1999, he won the Special Award at the 42nd FEC (Japan Fashion Editors Club) Awards. He has also designed uniforms for many schools across Japan, and in 1994 partnered with the school uniform manufacturer Tombo.
Currently, the brand presents its collections in show format every season.
