Nov 13, 2013

Actress Jean Seberg was born on November 13, 1938, in Iowa, USA.
In 1957, she made her debut as Joan of Arc in Otto Preminger's film "Saint Joan of Arc." She played the lead role of Cecile in "Aloha, My Love," released the same year, and the very short hair she wore for that role became a huge hit, nicknamed the "Cecil Cut." The worldview of the film has continued to be embraced by many women. PAUL & JOE SISTER's 2014 Spring/Summer collection was inspired by the film.
In 1959, she starred in "Breathless," Jean-Luc Godard's directorial debut. The film's fashion also attracted attention, and the striped tops, trench coats, and Sabrina pants worn by Jean and Jean-Paul Belmondo in the film remain staples of French style to this day.

In her personal life, she married film director Romain Gary in 1962. However, because Gary supported the Black Panthers, she was put on the radar of the FBI. She became pregnant in 1970, but various rumors spread about her, leading to depression. She divorced Romain in 1970 and married film director Dennis Berry in 1972.

After 1960, she appeared mainly in American and French films, but was unable to achieve any success. She disappeared in August 1979, and her suicide was confirmed on September 8th.
