Antonio Berardi's second line, BERARDI, opened a pop-up shop on November 13th at Center Park on the 4th floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building. The shop will run until November 19th. This time, the brand is proposing "adult fashion items that can be worn anywhere." The jacket (51,450 yen) was designed with the concept of "a navy blazer that can be worn elegantly for both glamorous occasions like parties and casual family outings," and is a special order for Isetan Mitsukoshi. Knitted on a knitting machine that is rare in Japan, the jacket is made of jersey material with a crisp, clean feel, and is lightweight and comfortable, like a cardigan. While gold buttons are the norm for navy blazers, to avoid looking gaudy when paired with accessories, this jacket features walnut buttons made from the same fabric as the lapels, with subtle gold accents only on the center eyelet. The cuffs are deep to hide the lining, and the pockets are piped with wool satin, expressing elegance in even the smallest details.
The silk tweed jacket (93,450 yen) and skirt (34,650 yen) are made with fabrics specially woven for this occasion, such as thick, untwisted silk thread, to achieve an elegant and sharp silhouette.
In addition to these, a knit cardigan (45,150 yen) with a refined and elegant look using lamé thread, jacquard pants (30,450 yen) combining two different navy shades, glossy and matte, and a sheer blouse (30,450 yen) and skirt (34,650 yen) are all available exclusively at Isetan Mitsukoshi.
"Even if a woman works, she is a mother and a wife at home and has many different roles. We chose navy as a color that can accommodate these many facets. Navy is a color that can express many different things. It has a masculine image but can also express sexiness. We imagined an 'aggressive navy' that doesn't settle for safety," explained the buyer in charge.
Berardi has decided to hold a pop-up event at the event space of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store from November 27th.
