Paul Stuart celebrates its 75th anniversary with a party. CEO Michael Ostroff announces future global business development.

Nov 15, 2013

Paul Stuart held a party celebrating its 75th anniversary at the Amimachi Mitsui Club in Minato Ward on the 14th. More than 300 guests attended, including celebrities such as singer Toshinobu Kubota, who appears in the brand's commercials. The party kicked off with a show by Phineas Cole, a brand launched in 2007 and launched in Japan this fall. The tight-fitting silhouettes, combined with a youthful, modern vibe, offered a glimpse into a new side of Paul Stuart. The venue also featured an exhibition of archives tracing the brand's history, including portraits from past catalogs. Guests were also entertained with a variety of activities, including a casino game where they could win Paul Stuart merchandise and a live performance by Jesse Harris on Inter FM. Appearing on the day, Paul Stuart CEO Michael Ostroff said, "It is an extraordinary honor for me to be president of this illustrious 75th anniversary year, and I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and our important partner, Sanyo Shokai Co., Ltd., for making this wonderful event a reality." Mitsui & Co. acquired all of Paul Stuart's shares in December of last year. He stated that the expansion of the licensing business has ensured more stable future growth, and that the company will continue to aggressively expand globally, leveraging its high-quality operations to expand from the U.S. to Asia and Europe. In Japan, the company is also considering renovating its flagship store in Aoyama and opening new street-level stores in major cities. "While men's fashion has become increasingly casual in both Japan and the U.S. recently, proper attire is essential for men to advance their careers. We want to fulfill the brand's unique role, ensuring that Paul Stuart is present in the stories of successful people."

In addition, a book commemorating the 75th anniversary, "PAUL STUART STYLE BOOK," will be released in bookstores nationwide on the 27th. The price is 1,470 yen.
