On November 17th, Avex Group hosted DANCE NATION 2013, one of the world's largest dance events, at Makuhari Messe. This dance event brought together dance studio students from across Japan who use the JSDA (Japan Street Dance Association)-certified dance program "avex Dance Master" to showcase the fruits of their hard work. Over 100 teams of young dancers, who had survived rigorous auditions, came together to perform passionately on stage. In addition to approximately 3,000 amateur dancers aiming to become professionals, 14 guest dance groups also appeared on stage, including Jessica, the sister of celebrity Becky and currently active in Los Angeles and the No. 1 dancer in the United States. The dance clubs of Doshisha Kori Junior High School and Kitakyushu Municipal High School, winners of the National Junior and Senior High School Dance Championships (DCC), also performed their winning routines. The "avex Dance Master Dream Team," a hip-hop unit of 17 members selected from 16,000 students, thrilled the audience. The final act of the day was the "avex Dance Master Instructors," a group of 60 instructors. Their stunning performance capped off the largest event yet. In addition to dance performances, the venue also hosted special live performances by artists. A total of five artists performed together, including Prizmmy☆, an all-girls dance and vocal unit born from avex Dance Master; FAKY, a girl group whose first music video was viewed over 300,000 times worldwide; and Kaori Fukuhara and RAB, a voice actress and Akihabara-style otaku dancer duo.
