"PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE" dance performance to be held at Midtown, applications for viewing now being accepted on the website

Dec 14, 2012

To coincide with the 20th anniversary of PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE and the release of its new fragrance in Japan, a dance performance will be held on Wednesday, January 30th.

The performance is directed by Daniel Ezralow, an American dancer and choreographer who has worked on many of ISSEY MIYAKE's shows both in Japan and overseas. 24 dancers will perform a unique dance based on the theme of joy.

Applications to attend are currently being accepted on the official website. The performance will be held twice, at 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM, with a capacity of 200 people per performance. Visitors to the event area on the day will receive a complimentary drink at PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE Roppongi (Tokyo Midtown Galleria, 2nd floor). Limited-edition special merchandise will also be available.

PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE is the embodiment of Miyake Issey's dream of "making clothing that is as timeless as a T-shirt or jeans." Born from a pursuit of functionality and beauty, the clothing became an independent brand in 1993 and is still loved by women around the world, now in its 20th year.

The new perfume has an enchanting scent that harmonizes vibrant energy, freshness, and abundant floral nectar. The bottle is a polyhedron, and the cap is designed to symbolize a flower's calyx.

A much-anticipated commercial featuring Nick Knight will be released on the official website on Friday, December 14th, followed by a behind-the-scenes video.
