Isetan Shinjuku will launch a campaign featuring Scandinavian design on November 27th. Ahead of the launch, a special website has been launched, showcasing "Scandinavian winter preparations" in a story-like format. The "Scandinavian Modern Collection," an event proposing a Scandinavian lifestyle from interior design to fashion, will be held until December 2nd in the event hall on the 7th floor of the main building. A full lineup of popular Scandinavian items will be on display, from vintage furniture, tableware, fabrics, and jewelry to warm winter items from brands like Klippan and Venla. One highlight is a classic chair from Finland's leading interior brand, Artek. A vintage "Stool 60" designed by Alvar Aalto will be on display. This was born from a project in which Artek purchased and exchanged 600 Stool 60s used in various places, including schools and homes, with a "sustainable" theme. The pieces were then exhibited along with information about their locations and history. Eight chairs will be specially provided by Artec 2nd Cycle, a vintage shop directly operated by Artec.
In addition, vintage tableware by Swedish designer Erik Hoglund, known for his primitive style in the 1950s, will be making its first appearance at the event. Collector's items, such as candle holders, glasses, and vases from glass manufacturer BODA, will also be on display.
Various seminars will also be held during the event. Workshops related to Scandinavia will include the Danish embroidered box "Eska," the traditional Finnish ornament "Himmeli," and the traditional Scandinavian sweet "oat balls." (The venue will be the banquet room on the 7th floor of the main building; admission is required; reservations begin on the 25th.)
In addition, there will be a focus on Scandinavian coffee, which is currently a hot topic. The banquet room on the 7th floor of the main building will feature a limited-time cafe by Oslo-based FUGLEN, while the food collection on the basement floor of the main building will feature carefully selected coffee beans from Roberts Coffee, a leading brand in Finland, the world's leading coffee consumer. The furniture corner on the 5th floor of the main building will feature Artek's "Lukki" series, designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara from 1951 to 1956. This series, which was unveiled at this year's Milan Salone, garnered attention. Additionally, The Stage #6 on the 6th floor of the main building will feature interior goods, apparel, and decorative items under the theme of "Yule, Christmas at Home." The collection will include Swedish baby and children's apparel "How to kiss a frog," as well as items featuring illustrations by popular Swedish artist Ingela P. Arrhenius.
