Nov 29, 2013

Ginza Illumination Hikarimichi, a year-end illumination event that has become a Ginza tradition, will run for 48 days from December 3rd to January 19th, 2014, extending the period from last year.

This year's event is titled "Hikarimichi - Circle of Hope," and the 1.5km roadside stretch of Ginza Street and Harumi Street will be illuminated with 183,000 specially developed champagne gold LEDs and 74 towers of light made up of overlapping rings. During the illumination period, charity donation boxes will be set up in brand shops and stores in Ginza, and donations will be made to the National Federation of UNESCO Associations in Japan, a public interest incorporated association.

Hikarimichi was launched in 2011 and is organized by the Ginza Street Association, a general incorporated association; the Ginza International Luxury Committee, an organization made up of 15 luxury brands including CHANEL, HERMES, and Harry Winston; and the All Ginza Association.
