On October 23, 2020, Dsquared2 will open a new store in Iwataya Main Store, one of Fukuoka's most famous department stores.
The store, with its innovative décor reflecting a bold, contemporary concept, was designed in collaboration with designers Dean & Dan Caten and Italian architectural firm Storage, with ideas such as laundry racks inspired by the Milan flagship store.
The 90-square-meter floor is a space defined by colors and fabrics, making use of materials such as brushed steel, carpet, and cement, each of which is completely separated into unique and distinct moods, yet coexists in harmony. The open and inviting space features light gray tile walls and ceilings, Lombardy wood floors, a printed carpet with a blue background and gray tiles, and new steel hangers with platforms for three-dimensional displays, finished in lacquer or metallic gray.
All furniture and fixtures are custom-made and individually designed. Even the marble tables, which evoke the aesthetics of the past, have been re-proportioned in a modern way.
The Iwataya Main Store will stock a full range of men's and women's clothing, as well as accessories and fragrances.
