Prestigious French shoe maison J.M. WESTON will open its world-first new concept atelier boutique, "J.M. WESTON ATELIER," in Nihonbashi Hamacho, Tokyo, on October 31st. A new hub for walking culture born in a former printing factory
J.M. Weston, a prestigious French brand founded in 1891, has chosen the town of Nihonbashi Hamacho in Tokyo. The former printing factory will be renovated to create a "living maison" that will include sales space, an atelier, a repair workshop, an exhibition space, and a café. The spatial concept was created by Artistic Image & Culture Director Olivier Saillard. Inspired by the brand's own factory in the Limoges region of France, the space embodies an intimate atmosphere where craft and art resonate.

The choice to base itself in the tranquil town of Hamamachi reflects the brand's determination to preserve the memory of artisan culture while breathing new creative energy into Tokyo. The space features a replica of a moving trolley used in the actual Limoges workshop, alongside iconic models of the brand. A video introducing the traditional handcrafted cutting and sewing techniques creates an immersive experience that makes visitors feel as if they've stepped inside the workshop.

Olivier Saillard's vision of the intersection of "knowledge and skill"
This Atelier boutique will host exhibitions and art projects curated by Saillard. The opening exhibition will be titled "EXHIBITION “Some Catwalk Memories”," featuring Claudia Huidobro, the unique model who emerged in the 1980s. Drawing on her memories of walking the streets of shows by Comme des Garçons and Jean Paul Gaultier, she will present delicate drawings themed on footprints.

The store will also feature a book selection space, stocked with art and literature books personally selected by Saillard. While functioning as a "creative workshop," the space will also function as a cultural salon for sharing knowledge and daydreaming.

Bringing the aesthetics of handcraft into everyday life - Café and limited edition models
The attached café will sell shoe-shaped biscuits of the signature loafer #180, produced by pastry chef Tsurumi Takashi, owner of the Tsurumi Confectionery School. This initiative, which reflects shoemaking motifs in the world of food, is also an experience where you can literally taste the "taste of craftsmanship." In addition, to commemorate the opening, a special limited edition model of the brand's iconic "Signature Loafer #180" will be released. Crafted from rare baby box calf leather, the loafers are limited to 30 pairs and feature the "J.M. WESTON ATELIER Tokyo Hamacho" inscription on the insole. This shoe represents a new chapter in the brand's 80th anniversary, marking a new chapter in the iconic model's journey.
