Luxury watch brand TAG Heuer has celebrated its 160th anniversary by releasing limited editions of its iconic TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph collection throughout the year. The brand is now announcing its third release, the TAG Heuer Carrera Sport Chronograph 160th Anniversary Limited Edition. The TAG Heuer Carrera Sports Chronograph 160th Anniversary Special Edition is inspired by the classic Heuer Carrera "DATO 45," the first TAG Heuer wristwatch chronograph with a rotating date disc, introduced in 1965. Like that model, this special model also features a date display at the 12 o'clock position on the dial.

Catherine Eberle-Duvaux, Heritage Director at TAG Heuer, said: "In creating the 160th Anniversary Special Edition, I had the wonderful experience of seeing all of the outstanding Carrera models. I think this is truly special. Choosing the Heuer Carrera “DATO 45” reference number 3147N was a courageous choice, as it was by no means an easy task for the design team to design a clean, highly legible chronograph dial with a date display in an unusual position. However, they achieved their mission admirably by updating and upgrading an icon."
The blue dial model features a 44mm stainless steel case with polished and finely satin-finished finishes and a blue ceramic bezel with a tachymeter scale. The blue circular satin-brushed dial features white azure-brushed subdials at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock, marking the passage of minutes and hours, creating a beautiful contrast. A blue opaline permanent seconds counter is located at 6 o'clock.
The white dial model also features a 44mm stainless steel case with polished and finely satin-brushed finishes, but the bezel with tachymeter scale is crafted from black ceramic, creating an especially bold contrast with the silvery opaline dial. Black azure-brushed chronograph minute and hour counters at 3 and 9 o'clock complete the striking look. A white opaline permanent seconds counter is located at 6 o'clock.
Both models feature rhodium-plated applied indexes and hour and minute hands filled with white Super-LumiNova®, ensuring excellent legibility in all conditions. The dial features a rhodium-plated "TAG Heuer" logo and the words "CARRERA HEUER 02 80 HOURS" printed on it. The most distinctive feature of this model is the date window at 12 o'clock. The date, displayed in red against a white background, is a design inherited from the original Heuer 3147N "Dato 45". To match the red date, the central chronograph seconds hand is also lacquered in red, and the counter at 3 o'clock also features a red movement. The dial is protected by a domed, beveled sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Sport Chronograph's stainless steel case back is engraved with the words "ONE OF 1860," signifying its limited edition status. The sapphire crystal on the case back also reveals the in-house Heuer 02 movement, whose automatic rotor is engraved with the special 160th anniversary logo. The watch is presented on a stainless steel H-shaped bracelet with a folding clasp and double safety push-buttons. This exceptional limited edition comes in a special box designed to commemorate TAG Heuer's 160th anniversary.
In addition, the first two TAG Heuer Carrera 160th Anniversary Limited Editions, the "TAG Heuer Carrera 160th Anniversary Silver Limited Edition" and the "TAG Heuer Carrera 160th Anniversary Montreal Limited Edition", are also inspired by vintage TAG Heuer pieces and commemorate the brand's 160th anniversary.
