
Ryohin Keikaku will hold the special exhibition "Found MUJI: Things of the North" from December 27th to March 2nd, 2017.
The exhibition focuses on the craftsmanship of tableware and tools that have taken root in the lives of people in northern Japan. Using local wood, earth, and straw, these simple tableware and household items were primarily made for personal use during the harsh northern winters, preserving the best of tradition. This exhibition will feature works from Iwate, Akita, and Yamagata in the Tohoku region. The exhibition will feature Iwate's Kokuji ware and Appi lacquerware, Yamagata's Hirashimizu ware, vine and straw crafts, and Akita cedar boxes.
The exhibition will be held at Found MUJI Aoyama, Yurakucho, Ikebukuro Seibu, Coredo Muromachi, Marui Kichijoji, Terrace Mall Shonan, Meitetsu Nagoya, AEON Mall Kyoto, Kyoto BAL, Grand Front Osaka, Hiroshima Parco, and MUJI Canal City Hakata.
