Maria Grazia Chiuri's Spring/Summer 2021 ready-to-wear collection was presented in Paris. We take a closer look at the pieces shown at the show.

The structure of the Bar jacket is a reinterpretation of a selected silhouette from Dior's Fall/Winter 1957 collection, originally designed for Japan, resulting in a relaxed, haori-like style. It is decorated with scarf patchwork, paisley, and floral motifs.

Paisley and floral motifs are expressed in a variety of textures, prints and embroidery.

Also appearing were looks and accessories incorporating ikat weaving, a fabric that originated on the Indonesian island of Bali and is known as "sine", which has been woven in abundance since the 16th century.

The collection launch will also be linked to Dior's podcast series, "Dior Talks." The podcast will feature Alina Marazzi, the film director behind the short film that was released before the show, as a guest, discussing how the project came about.

The film, which has been edited in a collage-like style, mixing and layering words and images in harmony with the theme of the collection, can be viewed here.
