Global fitness brand Reebok has collaborated for the first time with yoshiokubo, a Japanese men's fashion brand that has attracted attention for its unique designs. The special model, "Reebok x yoshiokubo," based on Reebok's signature sneakers, will be released on October 9, 2020.

■About "Reebok x yoshiokubo"
The shoes being released this time are the first collaboration model with yoshiokubo, a Japanese men's fashion brand that has attracted global attention for its unique cutting and graphic designs. Based on Reebok's iconic INSTAPUMP FURY and the CLUB C, which celebrated its 35th anniversary this year, these shoes garnered significant attention when they were unveiled at a runway show in Paris in January.

These two models incorporate traditional Japanese cultural elements into their designs. This design embodies designer Yoshio Kubo's desire to inspire more people to take an interest in Japan's proud, ancient culture. The most notable feature is the "Reebok" inscription on the heel, written in an inimitable font. The katakana calligraphy, which appears to have been written with ink and a brush, is inspired by calligraphy, a tradition and aesthetic of Japan and the East. The inscription was created by Kubo's father, who took up a brush to create it for this collaboration. Kubo feels that the unique depth of ink is excellent for expressing various shades of "black," and in this work, not only is the "Reebok" brand name used, but the sole is designed to look like ink has been splashed, and the entire body, including the upper, is in "bokuju color," creating a deep coloring that looks like it has been unevenly dyed. 。

This time, the design of the sneaker, from the upper to the heel, is as if it has been roughly painted with ink. The various shades of black that the ink possesses highlight the strength of the "INSTAPUMP FURY."
Meanwhile, the "CLUB C," a versatile sneaker beloved worldwide, features a dripping effect that resembles stepping in a puddle of ink. The design has been stripped down to preserve the original appeal of the "CLUB C."
