sacai's 2026 Spring/Summer collection, unveiled in Paris on October 6th, was themed "Coming Home" and presented an attempt to return to its essence while reconstructing the hybrid concept at the brand's core. Since its founding, sacai has explored complex structures and the fusion of different materials based on real, everyday clothing, and this season it has further deepened its "origins" to embody the purest "sacai-ness."

New shapes born from the act of "folding"
In this season's collection, new silhouettes are derived from the idea of "folding" classic garment structures. Cargo pants are transformed into a voluminous skirt by folding them, a tank top is turned up to create a blouse-like drape, and a tuxedo suit is reconstructed as a cocoon-like cape. This act of "folding" goes beyond the physical transformation of fabric and unfolds as a poetic experiment that unlocks the possibilities hidden in everyday clothing.

Reinterpreting the Classics and Experimenting with Form
Chitose Abe has further deepened her technique of using classic materials to update the modern era. Shoulder pads are boldly amplified, strengthening the structural presence of tuxedo jacket peplums, and deconstructed lapels are fused with the soft texture of silk blouses. Tweed fringe expands, and cashmere hoodies and track pants are transformed into ruffled dresses, elevating the gown to a new level of masculinity and femininity. Behind these garments, sacai's philosophy of "discovering unknown beauty in known forms" consistently runs.

Denim, tassels—an experimental spirit hidden in everyday materials
The collection also redefines utilitarian materials such as denim and tweed. Hybrid layering creates a multi-layered look for denim, while oversized tassels on the shoes effortlessly carry over the motif of the entire collection. sacai's constant pursuit of "commuting between the everyday and the extraordinary" is reflected in its choice of materials, and this season, a sense of reality and playfulness once again coexist.
