The more simple we are, the more complete we become.
The simpler we are, the more complete we become.
Sculpting new shapes from familiar garments.
Inspired by the elegant femininity that lies at the heart of sacai, the collection seeks to create gentle, soft sculptures that embrace the wearer's body. This means exploring new sculptural silhouettes born from unexpected patterns and constructions, slashes, cuts, and off-center asymmetries.
Gentle cocoon and balloon shapes emerge from circular patterns, sculpted to form new silhouettes. Drawing on the idea of sculpture, which carves new shapes from familiar garments, the complexity of the construction is offset by applying familiar garment archetypes to classic materials like shirting and denim.
Shirts create volume through their circular patterns, while Fair Isle sweaters are reconstructed into spherical silhouettes, their circular patterns forming the foundation for the garment's structure.
Revisiting sacai's signature hybridization with its lingerie heritage, camisoles and slip dresses are attached to coats and shirts to create new, sculpted, and relaxed shapes, evoking one-piece outfits and suggesting an easy, relaxed attitude. Sheer chiffon and fringe skirts create movement while supporting the overall structure of the garment.
Cuts and slashes transform the traditional men's shape into a new silhouette with the fabric falling and creating seductive slashes (rips), and by shifting what is familiar as the front of the garment off-centre, the familiar style is playfully disrupted.
What is the message that underlies Abe's thinking?
Always, unwaveringly, forever-Love is best.
