NTN, the brand created by former sacai designer Nobuaki Takahashi, has unveiled its Spring/Summer 2026 collection. The theme is "PORTRAIT."

The brand name is a combination of Takahashi's initials, "NT," with an additional "N" representing permanence. It embodies the brand's commitment to creating timeless, sustainable clothing. Rather than presenting clothing simply as "products," NTN has combined architectural installations and performances to explore the relationship between the body and clothing through spatial experiences. This approach pursues sustainable value that is not consumed by trends, establishing a unique position within the fashion world.

This year's theme, "PORTRAIT," is centered around expressions that seem to capture moments from everyday life. Based on classic tailoring, the collection presents clothes that reflect a modern portrait, or "human existence," through experimentation with materials and reconstructed silhouettes. The simple yet tense appearance clearly highlights NTN's philosophy of "timelessness."

The key to this season is the collaboration with Dutch artist Marijn van Kreij. His perspective of viewing art as an extension of life resonates with NTN's clothing design, which is born from the "everyday" of the wearer. Beneath the seemingly minimalist surface, lines, white space, repetition and deviations resonate, transforming the act of wearing the garment itself into a portrait.

Patternmaking takes inspiration from outdoor wear, the structures of nature, and archives of historical clothing. Cutting is conscious of the range of motion, weight balance is optimized, and the garment opens up the moment you put it on...——It may be silent on the hanger, but the more you move, the more its structure speaks. The NTN style is one in which a clean appearance coexists with "personal functionality" when worn.

The selection of materials also combines functionality and emotion. In addition to OLMETEX, known for its high density, and LIMONTA, which has a technical luster and firmness, the collection also features innovative textiles such as silk blends that offer a drape and feel that is comfortable against the skin, buffalo leather that is supple and strong, and wool gabardine blended with Spiber's Brewed Protein™. The overall atmosphere of the collection is determined by the "contemporary texture" that harmonizes a sustainable perspective with a fashionable expression.

NTN's ongoing project "BETA" is positioned as a preliminary step towards creating timeless classics, and presents the smallest unit for "extending your everyday life just a little." Versatility that is not tied to the season, a sense of security like a uniform, and space for individuality to emerge the more you use it. This season, that philosophy has been quietly but surely updated.

Even more noteworthy is the collaboration with VERTERE, an Okutama-based brand known for sparking the popularity of craft beer. The limited edition design can, born from the meeting of the two parties, is a special attempt to combine NTN's graphic work with VERTERE's original beer. The intersection of fashion and craft culture suggests the possibility of a new lifestyle.

The philosophy of "permanence" that has continued since the brand's founding has been further deepened through this collection and collaboration. The portraits painted by NTN are not merely expressions of clothing, but also portraits of time that color our daily lives and continue into the future.
