Pierre Hermé Paris is selling egg- and bunny-shaped chocolates celebrating Easter for a limited time until April 24th. Colorfully wrapped in pink, red, gold, and silver, the egg-shaped chocolates "Oeufs Pietra" filled with hazelnuts and "Oeufs Corso" filled with olive oil are both priced at 1,944 yen (per box). Other chocolates include "Oeufs Theobroma Noir," which resembles an egg wrapped in golden ivy leaves, and "Oeufs Mandiant Noir," which is decorated with orange peel and hazelnuts on top, as well as "Oeufs Dentelles Noir," which comes with a spring-like yellow and orange ribbon. Various sizes are available, from 14cm (3,456 yen) to 24cm (6,480 yen). The rabbit-shaped chocolates come in two varieties: "Lapin de Pac Noir," made with bitter chocolate, and "Lapin de Pac Le," made with milk chocolate. Each is available in four sizes, ranging from 12cm (1,944 yen) to 27cm (6,480 yen). The rabbits' fur and expressions are meticulously depicted, with colorful purple and gold egg-shaped chocolates at their feet. A yellow or orange ribbon ties around their necks for a spring-like finish. Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion, and this year it falls on April 20th. As a celebration of the resurrection of life, Easter is symbolized by the "Easter egg," the source of life, and the "Easter bunny," whose hopping pose symbolizes the leap of life. In France, adults enjoy a traditional Easter game in which children hide egg- or bunny-shaped chocolates in their gardens and search for them.
