Entertainer Tomoe Shinohara was born on March 29, 1979, in Tokyo.
Passing a Sony audition in her third year of junior high school, she made her debut as a singer in the spring of 1995 with "Chime," produced by Ishino Takkyu. Around 1996, she began appearing on television more frequently, gaining popularity for her friendly, high-energy personality.
At the same time, her unique fashion style also attracted attention, becoming a social phenomenon with the emergence of fans known as "Shino-ra." In the early days, she designed her own costumes, and even after hiring a stylist, she continued to draw designs and create original costumes. Around 1998, she began wearing less Shino-ra fashion and instead adopted a more refined, feminine style with more feminine hair and makeup.
While continuing her career as a singer, entertainer, and actress, she graduated from the Department of Fashion Studies at Bunka Women's University Junior College in 2001. Since then, she has designed costumes for the live fashion show "Shino Collection - 21 outfits designed by 21-year-old Shinohara Tomoe for the 21st century," the stage play "Invitation from an Angel," the musical "Thank you, Cactus Teacher," and the Kids Station program "Monster Geo."
She is currently in charge of costume design for Yuming's nationwide tour "POP CLASSICO," and is responsible for styling all of the band members as well as creating six outfits.
