Fred Perry and Jamie Reid release polo shirts with a message of freedom

Mar 17, 2014

Fred Perry has announced a collaboration with British artist Jamie Reid, known for his work on Sex Pistols artwork. This collaboration is part of the "Blank Canvas" project, which treats classic Fred Perry pieces as clean canvases and customizes them with a free spirit. Three polo shirts for men and women are designed based on Reid's original artwork. Reid's designs, which champion individuality and inspire free spirits, are imbued with his punk spirit. The "A SHORT SHARP SHOCK" features Reid's trademark cut-and-paste lettering, a design first seen in 1987. The "BOUDICCA" graphic features Boudica, the Celtic warrior queen who rebelled against the Romans, and is one of Reid's most famous works. "TIME FOR MAGIC" is designed from some of Reid's recent works, and the motif of the hare is also a symbol of free thought.

The "Fred Perry x Jamie Reid Blank Canvas Collection" will be available in advance at Dover Street Market Ginza in Ginza, Tokyo from March 15th, and will be released in limited quantities at FRED PERRY LAUREL Aoyama and Osaka, as well as the online shop, on April 8th.
