The theme of mame's 2014-2015 Autumn/Winter collection is "personal memory," the same as the 2014 Spring/Summer collection. Designer Maiko Kurokawa continued to reflect on the time she spent with her grandmother.
The key element was a green Kutani ware vessel found in her grandmother's storehouse. The green is expressed with fine pointillism, and its thick texture inspired the use of textiles with a three-dimensional texture.
Textiles are symbolic, such as small floral embroidery on green tulle and tweed with a strong nap. Three-dimensional details are also present, such as pleated skirts, layered chiffon dresses, and dresses with handkerchief hems. Kutani ware patterns are also incorporated into the jacquard.
Other eye-catching pieces include knitwear with different sleeve colors, and fur mittens and neck warmers. While the overall look is cute, the deep V-neck and studded bangles exude a strong femininity.
