mame will open a pop-up shop featuring its 2014 Spring/Summer collection on January 22nd at The Stage #3 on the 3rd floor of the Isetan Shinjuku store. It will run until the 28th.
The theme of this seventh collection is "personal memory." It was inspired by the time designer Maiko Kurokawa spent with her grandmother, who lived deep in the mountains of Nagano. By facing her grandmother, she also faced herself, and expressed each of their "personal memories" through fashion. The collection is full of influences from Nagano, including military elements inspired by her grandmother's wartime experiences and floral patterns inspired by sketches of the violets in her planter and the flowers growing in her fields.
The shop now carries dresses in military colors and with delicate lace, as well as spring coats with beautiful A-line silhouettes. A new brown version of the brand's iconic PVC bag series will also be available. Kurokawa himself will also be styling the body and creating the bag installation.
