Bottega Veneta's core values of craft and creativity are supported by a fusion of the brand's pursuit of beauty and artisanal craftsmanship. Since its founding, the brand has been involved in the art scene, with a longstanding commitment to cultural support and engagement through cultural dialogues, partnerships, and events. We foster exchange across disciplines, support the beauty and potential of diverse forms of expression, and support people and projects that share a spirit of community and innovative approaches to craft.

Morioka Bookstore, located in Ginza, is based on the unique concept of creating a cultural community that brings together authors, related parties, and readers through one book per week. From that single book, we develop exhibitions and workshops, perpetuating book culture in a contemporary way.

This exhibition focuses on Japanese literature and, in cooperation with Morioka Shoten, which continues to go beyond the boundaries of a bookstore and work to "communicate the world of a single book in three dimensions," will foster exchanges between Bottega Veneta and the Japanese literary and art communities.

Also at the venue, perfumer Sari has specially blended five fragrances inspired by five poems selected from Sugawara Bin's poetry collection "Coffee Night Boat." Guests will be immersed in the world of poetry while smelling aromas extracted from natural materials such as coffee leaves, flowers, salt, stones and shells, creating a space where poetry and fragrance intersect.

■Book information
Sugawara Bin, poetry collection "Coffee Night Boat" (Raichosha)
"Drink up the black liquid that has spilled onto your plate, sing rather than pray, before you are swallowed up by the waves and sink to the depths"
Sugawara Bin's long-awaited fourth work is a poetry collection that is like a "small boat" setting out on an unknown night journey with a cup of coffee in hand. Open the green cover reminiscent of coffee leaves and turn the pages, and a nostalgic scene of a boat setting out on the pitch-black sea comes to mind. The collection of poems is interspersed with black-and-white photographs by photographer Kajioka Miho, winner of France's Prix Nadar in 2019, reminiscent of fragments of a distant memory. It contains 31 poems, including poems named after coffee bean producing regions such as Tanzania and Colombia, as well as poems from Starbucks' online series "A Cup of Poem." The afterword includes "Coral and Coffee," an expanded and revised version of an essay originally published in the literary magazine Gunzo. Author: Sugawara Satoshi Publisher: Raichosha Publication Date: November 7, 2024 Price: ¥2,200 (¥2,000 + tax) Contact: Bottega Veneta Japan Tel: 0120-60-1966 *Updated June 21 (images added)
