Maison Martin Margiela's 2014-2015 Autumn/Winter collection was inspired by timeless traditional garments and attempted to reinvent them. Iconic pieces include an updated Prince of Wales check jacket, houndstooth coats, and Fair Isle and Aran knitwear. The coat's back is detachable, transforming it into a stole-like accessory with just the collar and sleeves. The shoulders are characteristic of the brand, rising structurally, and the sleeves are back-sewn for a curve. Knitwear features elbow panels for enhanced mobility. Textile labels such as "Harris Tweed" and "Robert Noble" are sewn onto the back of the garments. Futuristic elements were also added. Some items, such as vests and pants, feature illuminated vinyl plates. The iconic tabi shoes were transformed into sneakers, draped in metallic clothing. Models held "pop-up" bags under their arms. The flat document case can be raised by a switch to become a three-dimensional pouch. It comes with a cord and strap for easy portability.
