Chitose Abe's sacai Spring/Summer 2017 men's show was held in the Orangerie (a greenhouse for citrus trees) in the Luxembourg Gardens. Amidst a background music arrangement of the second movement of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, a model appeared wearing a derby hat reminiscent of Alex, the protagonist from Stanley Kubrick's 1971 film, A Clockwork Orange, which also featured the same piece. However, unlike the film's venomous image, the model wore a pink jumpsuit adorned with a badge. The pink series continued, with every look coordinated with a fishnet long-sleeve T-shirt. The hem of a South American-inspired poncho-style jacket was adorned with fringe, adding a decorative element to a casual look. The red check pattern evoked a British feel, while the jacket with a detailed motif print evoked a Mexican touch. The striped series featured workwear-style coats and blousons, with a wide variety of materials, colors, and items. Various elements were mixed together to create a single worldview, making this a collection unique to sacai.
