Jonathan Anderson's LOEWE presented its Spring/Summer 2017 men's collection in a presentation format at a showroom facing Saint-Sulpice. This season's setting was the island of Ibiza. The venue was adorned with large photographs of the Ibiza sunset and covered in sleek black tiles to resemble the ocean surface. This season's collection depicts two young men who are castaways on the island and begin their lives there. Brightly colored pieces, such as purple knitwear, pink leather jackets, and cobalt striped pants, were coordinated with driftwood-inspired necklaces, as if the designers had fashioned accessories from everyday objects. Lion and monkey charms, reminiscent of washed-up stuffed animals, adorned bags. Gold-painted denim, cardigans, and barrel-shaped bags were also eye-catching. Sweatshirts and denim inspired by Japanese boro evoked the DIY spirit of castaways.
The accents this season were motifs inspired by the Inca Empire, as well as fossilized ammonites and trilobites, corals, shells and other living creatures. These were exquisitely mixed to create an extremely fresh and luxurious story.
