CHANEL presented its Fall/Winter 2016-17 Haute Couture collection at the Grand Palais in Paris, France. The show paid tribute to the advanced craftsmanship of the Petit Men (small hands, meaning seamstresses). The spotlight shone on 78 Petit Men on a stage recreating the four ateliers that support Chanel's haute couture. The collection featured pieces with unpadded, three-dimensional shapes, often featuring diagonal cuts or pointed shoulders. For the evening, dresses inspired by the work of British illustrator Aubrey Beardsley were featured. Chanel ambassadors Vanessa Paradis, Willow Smith, and Caroline de Maigret, as well as celebrities such as Jessica Chastain, attended the event.
