For its Autumn/Winter 2025 Collection, Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO used a paradoxical approach to re-present the core of the identity that the brand has built up over the past 30 years.

- Yasuhiro Mihara
I presented "tailoring" as a slow concept that contradicts the fast-paced trends of the times. Starting with a reconsideration of the term "tailoring," which now has a somewhat dusty connotation, and which refers to a broader definition that goes beyond suit tailoring, I developed clothing with forms that exude a sense of aesthetic contradiction.

A new "OLIVER" sneaker has been created, representing the designer's origins and the brand's signature. The collaborative model between General scale., a line launched in 2020, and AUTRY, which has a factory in Italy, resonates with Mihara, who shares AUTRY's philosophy of aiming for authentic products that are not influenced by the trends of the times. Without changing the retrospective design of the iconic MEDALIST sneaker in any way, Mihara recreates the sole, which has deteriorated over time, through a heat treatment. The paradox of the concept of time, surrounding the past and future contained within "sneakers with a worn-out texture," evokes contemplation about the essence of time.

What this collection attempted was a rethink of "tailoring," not an invention of "new tailoring." Escaping the spell of the fantasy of creating something new, the collection undertook a paradoxical process of clearly outlining the brand's identity by reexamining the fundamental acts of drawing patterns, cutting fabric, and sewing together, while endowing the garments with a strength that can withstand weathering.

A Little Paradox Part Six
"Where do you like to travel?"
Conversations on the streets dyed red by the sunset promise grand romance and stories.
This question is philosophical for me, who spends most of my life within a 10-kilometer radius.
However, I can't find any reason to like traveling. In fact, it's almost as if I hate it.
I try to answer this innocent and insensitive question bravely, but no idea comes to mind.
10 seconds... 20 seconds...
The longer time passes, the higher my expectations become.
50 seconds...
No good. It's painful.
70 seconds...
Ah, I want to run away from here.
90 seconds...
I want to go far away.
