On the 5th, Arrston Volaju, a shop selling designer Sato Takanobu's brand "KOHSHIN SATOH," opened in Harajuku, Tokyo. The facade is lined with large and small steel panels, and the interior is painted jet black. Randomly placed steel pipes of various sizes cover the walls. The shop design was handled by Sato and steel artist Yoshimoto Nobuyuki. "Fast fashion is mainstream these days. Sato wanted to rediscover the value of true fashion and clothing, and by opening a store, he wanted to gradually spread the word nationwide, which led to the opening of this shop," explains a shop staff member. Most of the clothes on display are one-of-a-kind. Full custom orders are also accepted. Sato founded Arrston Volaju in 1975. It was a favorite of jazz trumpeter Miles Davis and pop artist Andy Warhol. It is currently on display in Paris.
