Swiss mechanical watch brand H. Moser & Cie. releases a new model with a simple center second hand

Aug 31, 2020
Following the release of the automatic flyback chronograph in January 2020, H. Moser & Cie. has launched the Streamliner Centre Seconds as the second in the Streamliner collection. The Streamliner collection is inspired by the beautiful streamlined shapes characteristic of the first high-speed railways that were in operation from the 1920s to the 1930s. The new Streamliner Centre Seconds features the essential elements of a watch: hours, minutes, and centre seconds. The stainless steel case and bracelet are perfectly integrated into a flowing form, with ideal proportions featuring high-end finishing, and a matrix green fumé dial that exudes a completely new and distinctive elegance.

As a detail that enhances the watch's appeal, classic three-hand models require extremely high levels of expertise. With its balanced and precise proportions, the Streamliner Centre Seconds perfectly demonstrates this philosophy. Water-resistant to 12 bar, its 40.0 mm diameter stainless steel cushion-shaped case eliminates the case lugs and is fully integrated into the stainless steel bracelet, resulting in an extremely ergonomic design. The case has the traditional shape typical of H. Moser & Cie., with a concave middle case, satin-brushed sides and alternating brushed and polished surfaces. The crystal is protected by a slightly domed sapphire crystal and the caseback is also see-through. The curves of the stainless steel bracelet, integrated into the case, form a graceful arch that follows the contours of the wrist. This highly complex bracelet has exceptionally smooth lines based on organic forms. All links are articulated and articulated, combining vertically brushed and polished surfaces in the form of gentle waves. A technical feat, the bracelet's construction and design are the result of sophisticated mastery and offer a seamless and flexible fit.

To further enhance the stainless steel case and bracelet of the Streamliner Centre Seconds, H. Moser & Cie. has created an all-new fumé dial. This vibrant green color, reminiscent of gold, is called Matrix Green. This new dial color further enhances the timeless elegance of this model. The three-dimensional hour and minute hands are split into two sections and feature inserts made of Globolight®, an innovative ceramic-based material that contains Super-LumiNova®. The minute hands are slightly curved to fit the dial.

The Streamliner Centre Seconds is powered by a 100% Swiss-made mechanical movement, the HMC 200 automatic caliber. This movement, entirely designed, developed, and manufactured in-house, incorporates a regulating organ produced by the company's subsidiary, Precision Engineering AG. Decorated with the Moser double stripes, the HMC 200 calibre houses a gold rotor and has a power reserve of approximately three days.
