visvim will begin full-scale development of its women's line, WMV, this fall/winter season.
WMV was launched by designer Hiroki Nakamura, who had long felt that "much of women's clothing is a passing fad," with the desire to "create designs that can be used for a long time, and even propose new lifestyles, by creating products that exude from within rather than on the surface."
This fall/winter collection will feature approximately 50 styles. In line with the men's season concept, the collection will feature feminine items such as Inuit jackets, officer jackets, and vests, as well as scarves made from custom fabric by Faliero Sarti and indigo-dyed dresses. "We wanted to express the warmth of handmade items that cannot be achieved through mass production," says Nakamura, whose collection features a distressed moleskin woven with uneven yarns to create a worn look. Nakamura also offers a vintage-inspired collection, featuring linen dyed with indigo dye in a herringbone pattern and hand-stitched stitching. The collection also showcases a strong commitment to footwear, a signature Visvim staple. The sneakers, inspired by the Goodyear welt method, feature a cork interior for comfort. The soles are replaceable, ensuring a long-lasting aging experience. Nakamura also offers original bags made from Italian leather, as well as accessories and hats. One-of-a-kind original items are planned for release, including a necklace handcrafted by Nakamura himself, randomly assembled from Venetian glass trade beads, which were used as currency in Europe from the 16th to 19th centuries.
