Powerful Energy
In 2018, Louis Vuitton set sail into the new world of men's fragrances with the launch of five fragrances that embodied the emotions, adventures and escapism that travelers experience - L'Immensité, Nouveau Monde, Orage, Sur la route and Au hasard. This year, a sixth fragrance will be added, further enhancing the collection. This exceptional new fragrance was created by the Maison's in-house Master Perfumer, Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, in his creative atelier in Grasse, southern France.
"Météore"—meaning "star fragment"—evokes power and light, drawing us in like a magnet. The shooting star captivates us as we follow its course. Lighting up the night sky like a fiery cloud, this spectacle, dazzling people around the world, seems to herald a timeless world beyond the lines of longitude and latitude, where every moment is an adventure and every possibility unfolds. Each day brings a new opportunity to discover new horizons, to shine with vigor and resonance—to transform the universe into time, each minute into eternity. Man rediscovers his vitality and feels a renewed surge of optimism, a promise of fulfillment. If we could precisely determine the trajectory it should take, it would seem as if we could reach infinity──

Wrapped in light──
Is it possible to capture and confine such intense sparkle of a shooting star? Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud took on this incredibly bold challenge, seeking an answer to his ongoing quest for a refreshing sensation. He reinterpreted freshness and devised an accord that is crystal clear and powerful, instantly refreshing. No compromises were made, and the finest citrus fruits were carefully selected to inject a vibrant energy. Calabrian bergamot, mandarin, and Sicilian orange burst forth with a powerful fragrance, pierced by a ray of light, unleashing a succession of sun-soaked notes. The exceptional qualities of these citrus fruits give them unprecedented power, their extracts penetrating the very heart of the fragrance. "In this composition, the fresh citrus is not only the top note, but also the primary vector, providing the central support for the other notes to harmonize and interact with one another," says Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud. Tunisian neroli, for example, accentuates the brightness of the citrus with its brilliance. Next, a cocktail of spices creates a spectacular impact, ushering in the sharp, stimulating aromas of three peppers, further illuminating the citrus under a direct hit. The combination of Guatemalan cardamom and Indonesian nutmeg accentuates the fragrance's depth and gives it a unique lingering finish. Jacques Cavalier-Belletrud's mastery of contrasts allows the fragrance's rich olfactory expressions to emerge vividly on the skin.
As his signature fragrance and the final touch of refinement, Jacques Cavalier-Belletrud chose Javanese vetiver, using a unique extraction method to bring out its essence in its most beautiful form. By removing its smoky notes, the vetiver's complex aroma is revealed, revealing notes of fresh, spicy grapefruit and damp earth, along with amber. Noble and luxurious, vetiver emerges from the shadows into the sunlight, acquiring a dazzling brilliance. Blending elements of sky and earth, Météore is a fragrance that perfectly captures contemporary elegance.
