The Hobonichi Techo, which launched in 2002, will celebrate its 20th anniversary with the 2021 edition. While it started with just one type of planner and cover, over the past 20 years, the lineup has expanded to include a wide variety of options.
Hobonichi Co., Ltd. will begin releasing the Hobonichi Techo 2021 series at 11:00 AM on September 1, 2020. The theme for the 2021 Hobonichi Techo, celebrating its 20th anniversary, is "Handwrite / People Write." In keeping with this theme, this year's highlight is the "JAPAN MANGA CLASSICS" series. This series features collaborations with classic Japanese manga, which have captivated many people for many years through the stories they create through handwriting. It also features collaborations with various artists both in Japan and abroad. The series will be available from 11:00 AM on September 1, 2020, at the Hobonichi Store, the official Hobonichi Techo online store, as well as at Loft locations nationwide.

Wada Makoto is one of Japan's leading illustrators and graphic designers. His cover illustration for the first issue of "Weekly Bunshun," "The Bird That Transcends Time" (May 12, 1977 issue), has now been made into a Hobonichi Techo cover. The little green bird holding an airmail letter in its mouth represents the idea that "the cover is a letter to our readers."

Shaun Tan is an Australian-born picture book author. This print features a view of the town where the protagonist arrives in his masterpiece, Arrival (published in 2006), which he created over the course of five years and is themed around immigration. As well as being one of today's most up-and-coming illustrators and picture book authors, he is also active as a stage director and film concept artist. In 2011, he won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for The Lost Thing, which he adapted into a film over the course of nine years. He currently lives in Melbourne.

Hibi no Kodue Series
This illustration was originally created for the rakugo corner "Hanashikatei" on NHK Educational TV's "Nihongo de Asobo," for which Hibino Kodue is in charge of set costumes. "I wanted to create a world where deer are surrounded by beautiful flowers wherever they go, so I planted flowers around the set and even drew flower pictures on the cushions with crayons," says Hibino. A world of blooming flowers, like a paradise where deer stand. A beautiful and gorgeous notebook cover has been created.

This is an original illustration by Yunoki Samiro, a dyeing artist who continues to work energetically at the age of 97. Yunoki says that it is important to "develop affection for and find interest in the 'ordinary' things of everyday life." "If you come across something that suddenly leaves an impression on you, I think it's a good idea to reimagine it and store it in a drawer in your mind." By paying attention to the things that are taken for granted in everyday life, the small, insignificant things, you may discover "interesting aspects" that you had overlooked.

Hibi no Kodue Series
This illustration was originally created for the rakugo corner "Hanashikatei" on NHK Educational TV's "Nihongo de Asobo," for which Hibino Kodue is in charge of set costumes. "I wanted to create a world where deer are surrounded by beautiful flowers wherever they go, so I planted flowers around the set and even drew flower pictures on the cushions with crayons," says Hibino. A world of blooming flowers, like a paradise where deer stand. A beautiful and gorgeous notebook cover has been created.

Yuzuki Samiro Series
This is an original illustration by Yunoki Samiro, a dyeing artist who continues to work energetically at the age of 97. Yunoki says that it is important to "develop affection for and find interest in the 'ordinary' things of everyday life." "If you come across something that suddenly leaves an impression on you, I think it's a good idea to reimagine it and store it in a drawer in your mind." mintdesigns is a brand that offers fashion with original prints and materials that you will never forget once you've seen them. Zig-zag is a fabric that symbolizes the adventurous spirit of mintdesigns. It is a cotton canvas with an irregular zigzag pattern printed in vivid colors. It is then treated with PVC and then embossed with a grain pattern. Due to the characteristics of the fabric, it is also stain-resistant, which is a plus.
