BLK DNM, a New York-based denim brand that arrived in Japan this season, will open its first pop-up store in Japan for two weeks from the 1st to the 14th of next month in "The Style," an event space on the first floor of Opaque Ginza (3-5-8 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo). In addition to the brand's 2013 Spring/Summer collection, the store will also feature special leather jackets, a classic rider's jacket customized with luxurious materials such as fur. These limited-edition items, available in eight styles (only one of each), are available exclusively at colette in Paris and the BLK DNM flagship stores in New York and Stockholm. Photographs by the brand's designer, Johan Lindberg, created specifically for the leather jackets will also be on display. BLK DNM was originally founded in February 2011 as an online-only brand, and its lineup includes denim, leather rider's jackets, and tailored jackets. The brand's founder, Johan, supported Diesel in its early days alongside Renzo Rosso and served as CEO of Diesel USA. After leaving Diesel, he started his own brand, J. Lindberg. After selling the brand, he worked as a consultant and stylist before founding Black Denim. He is also active as a photographer, and is responsible for all of the visuals released by Black Denim, including campaigns, lookbooks, and the tabloid newspaper Gazette.
