Pepabo, founded by Kazuma Ieiri, and Iwataya Mitsukoshi have opened a brick-and-mortar shop for the handmade goods e-commerce site "minne"

Apr 19, 2013

"Minne Handmade Market at Iwataya," a brick-and-mortar shop showcasing works by artists listed on minne, an online handmade goods market operated by Pepabo (paperboy&co.), will open for a limited time on the sixth floor of the new Iwataya main store in Fukuoka from May 8th to May 21st.

The market will provide a place where visitors can actually see and purchase handmade works by artists active on minne. By connecting visitors with active online creators, Pepabo and Iwataya aim to support the creative endeavors of these creators and propose a new way to enjoy shopping at a department store. During the event, visitors will be able to interact with minne artists and purchase Mother's Day-themed works.

Minne is an online marketplace from Fukuoka that launched in January 2012 and allows individuals to easily purchase handmade items online. Supported by many handmade craft enthusiasts, it currently has 80,000 items listed and a cumulative membership of over 20,000.
