Gucci's official online store, Gucci.com, has launched a mobile version of its website. Japan is the brand's third country after the United States and Europe. The decision to launch the mobile version was made in response to the expansion of the mobile shopping market in Japan.
The mobile site was created in collaboration with Huge, a Brooklyn-based company, and is designed for access from smartphones and tablets. It is compatible with iOS and Android.
The brand's PC e-commerce site was launched in 2011 and is currently available in 27 countries. The Japanese site launched in November of the same year. Initially, it only sold bags and leather goods, but in response to growing demand, the lineup has now expanded to include fragrances, sunglasses, shoes, and more, with plans to soon begin selling apparel.
