A new Coach store has opened inside Oak Omotesando. It's the brand's ninth flagship store in Japan. The 463-square-meter store spans two floors, carrying the brand's entire line, including men's and women's bags, leather goods, outerwear, footwear, jewelry, watches, and sunwear. The store was designed by the New York office of leading architectural firm OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture), led by Shohei Shigematsu. Having worked on numerous large-scale buildings overseas, this is his first project in Japan. The store's facade features translucent glass cubes arranged in a herringbone pattern. The translucent cubes surrounding the store's main staircase are illuminated, illuminating the glass facade from within like a lantern at night.
