"Rag & Bone" accelerates store openings, opening its third store at Tamagawa Takashimaya S.C. New bags and limited edition tote bags also on sale

Apr 1, 2013

The New York brand rag & bone's third store in Japan will open on April 27th on the third floor of the South Building of Tamagawa Takashimaya S.C.
With a floor area of 120 square meters, the store will be the largest shop-in-shop in Asia and will feature an interior that mixes British heritage with American modern. It will carry a wide selection of the brand's signature denim line, which is both its roots and its signature. This will be the only store in Japan to offer the brand's full lineup of men's, women's, denim, and accessories, along with the Omotesando store.
In addition, the new "Pilot Clutch" bag will debut on the opening day, and a limited edition denim tote bag (13,650 yen) designed to commemorate the opening will also be released. The brand opened its first overseas store in Omotesando in October 2010, followed by a pop-up store at the Hankyu Umeda main store in December 2012, an Isetan Shinjuku store in March 2013, and now the Tamagawa Takashimaya store, marking a flurry of new store openings. In December 2012, designers David Neville and Marcus Wainwright visited Japan and spoke of their commitment to expanding their business in the country. At the same time, they also indicated their intention to further expand their shoe and bag offerings, debuting the new "Pilot Clutch" as an extension of their iconic "Pilot Bag." They also plan to release new variations, such as tote bags, in the future. "We've heard that Futako Tamagawa has many sophisticated customers who are very fashion-conscious. We think opening a direct store in this area is a very attractive proposition. We're really looking forward to it as it will be the largest shop-in-shop in Asia," commented the two designers.
