"European Mode 2013," an exhibition focusing on European women's fashion over the past 200 years, from the 18th century to the 1970s, is running until June 8th at the Bunka Gakuen Costume Museum in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
The exhibition introduces trends from each era, from the glamorous Rococo dresses of the 18th century to the 1970s, when diverse styles such as miniskirts and pants were popular, and the social background that gave rise to those trends.
Special features also include dresses and textiles associated with fashion icons of the era, such as Audrey Hepburn and Princess Diana. Gallery talks are scheduled for May 18th and June 1st, starting at 1:30 PM.
