Designer Yasumichi Morita, who designed the Isetan renovation, will hold his first solo exhibition in Japan in Ginza

Apr 3, 2013

Designer Yasumichi Morita, head of the design firm Glamorous, will hold his first solo exhibition in Japan, "WHAT'S! GOLD!?", at the Pola Museum Annex in Ginza.

While the works are artworks, the exhibition aims to illuminate Morita's unique "hospitality spirit," exploring the differences and commonalities between design and art, as well as his thoughts on society.

Born in Osaka in 1967, Morita has expanded his work overseas, beginning with a project in Hong Kong in 2001, to New York, London, Shanghai, and elsewhere, engaging in a wide range of creative endeavors, including interior design, graphics, and products. His projects include the renovation of the Isetan Shinjuku store, which had its grand opening in March, and the W Hotel in Hong Kong.
