Ladurée, a long-established Parisian patisserie, and MIKIMOTO, a leading Japanese jeweler, have collaborated to create a sweets collection themed around "mariage" (marriage), which will be released on April 1st.
This collection features a collaboration inspired by MIKIMOTO's famous pearls. The limited-edition "MIKIMOTO" macaron (274 yen) has a beautiful luster reminiscent of pearl jewelry. Sandwiched with cream flavored with rose and lychee, the macaron unleashes a gorgeous fragrance upon sipping.
Also available is a limited-edition "MIKIMOTO" macaron box (3,500 yen) decorated with MIKIMOTO pearl necklaces and pink ribbon motifs. This box will be sold in limited quantities and will also be given as a gift to those who purchase an engagement ring or wedding ring at a MIKIMOTO store.
Also available is a pyramid-shaped cake called "Piece Montée de Choux 'MIKIMOTO'," made by stacking petit choux like a croquembouche. The petit choux is coated in a rose-colored glaze that gives off a pearly sheen and is topped with a single sugar pearl. Just like the limited edition macarons, it is filled with rose and lychee cream.
It is decorated with rose dragées and sugar confectionery shaped like rose petals. Reservations are being accepted until March 31, 2016 at Ladurée Ginza, Nihonbashi, Shinjuku, and Ladurée Japan.
