HEAVEN & HEART, a cosmetics brand created by the Kesen Tsubaki Dream Project, is currently selling a limited quantity of its "Kesen Tsubaki Hand Cream" (80g/¥1,800) made with camellia oil at the Beauty Apothecary on the second basement floor of the main building of the Isetan Shinjuku store. The brand was established with the goal of promoting 100% Japanese-made natural cosmetics to the world, using high-quality Kesen camellia oil harvested in the Kesen region of Sanriku, which straddles Iwate and Miyagi prefectures. Kesen camellias grow in the Kesen region, where extreme temperature differences exist, producing a high-quality oil that blends easily with the skin. The Kesen Tsubaki Hand Cream, made with this oil, boasts a refreshing, not-too-sweet rose scent. Its melting texture quickly absorbs into the skin, protecting it from dryness and roughness. Additionally, botanical ingredients such as honey and quince seed extract help maintain skin moisture. It has a non-sticky feel and can be used in a variety of situations, such as changing your mood or relaxing before bed.
The project was started in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake with the aim of "creating a kind and sustainable business that connects people, from Tohoku to the world." Its aim is to build a new, long-lasting business together with local people. Kesen Tsubaki Hand Cream was developed in collaboration with Hollywood Cosmetics, which opened Japan's first beauty salon, and En Women's Medical Association, an association of female doctors working to support Tohoku.
