Highlights - Beautiful jewelry made from materials limited during wartime -

Trifari's costume jewelry is characterized by its exquisite craftsmanship, which earned it the nickname "real-look jewelry," and its unique, luxurious designs. The person who made this possible was none other than Alfred Philippe, who was appointed chief designer at Trifari in 1930.

He worked as a designer for Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpert, and his talent was so great that First Lady Eisenhower entrusted him with jewelry design for her husband's inaugurations on two occasions. It is also certain that behind these works were the skilled artisans whose skills are unattainable today.

This time, we will be focusing on special pieces created during World War II. At a time when the use of many metals was restricted, A. Philippe continued to create enthusiastic pieces, including elegant pieces using sterling silver (SUV925) that had escaped conscription, and pieces using a resin he developed himself called Jelly Belly, which is indistinguishable from clear glass.

These rare pieces are so unique, dignified, and beautifully shining that it is hard to believe they were made in the midst of war. Costume jewelry that still shines beautifully today, while still conveying A. Philippe's passion, is a perfect fit for Trifari's catchphrase, "Jewels by Trifari," and could become a lifelong treasure for its owner, no less than fine jewelry.
