Coffee Supreme, a coffee roaster based in Wellington, New Zealand, will open its first store in Japan, "Coffee Supreme Tokyo," in Oku-Shibuya, Tokyo, in the fall of 2017. Coffee Supreme is a historic coffee roaster founded in 1993 in Wellington, the capital of New Zealand. It operates cafes in Wellington and three other cities in Australia: Melbourne and Brisbane. They roast world-class beans and serve the highest quality coffee. Coffee Supreme became fascinated with Japan after seeing actor Bill Murray drinking Suntory whiskey in the film "Lost in Translation." Since then, they have noticed a strong resemblance to Coffee Supreme's philosophy, and have been inspired by the balance of Japanese tradition, aesthetic sense, and simplicity. Tokyo will be Coffee Supreme's first store outside of Oceania, and collaborations with various Japanese brands are planned.
