Items from the "Running Japan Market" project, which promotes the charms of each region from inside the Shinkansen, will be available on the Sanyo Shinkansen (from Shin-Osaka Station to Hakata Station) from June 26th to late August.
The Running Japan Market project, which focuses on souvenirs, divided the year into four seasons. In 2015, original items centered on regional crafts were developed in collaboration with local manufacturers in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Fukuoka Prefecture, Ishikawa Prefecture, and Okayama Prefecture. In 2016, the project expanded beyond prefectural boundaries to include the Setouchi region, the ancient capitals (Kyoto and Nara), and San'in (Shimane and Tottori). This latest edition brings together a limited-time selection of items from the previous lineup. Some particularly popular items from the entire series will also be available in new designs. During the event, four new designs will be available: the "Ocean-Weaving Stole" (three colors, ¥6,500 each) from Ehime Prefecture, the "Okayama Hinoki Ruler 0 Series Shinkansen" (¥1,400) and the "Sanyo Shinkansen Masking Tape C Set" (¥1,100) from Okayama Prefecture, and the "Shinkansen Bean Snacks" (¥1,000) from Ishikawa Prefecture. Additionally, a total of 15 items will be on sale, including the "Running Japan Market Set" (¥850) from Yamaguchi Prefecture, the "Plum Moisturizing Facial Soap" (¥3,000) from Fukuoka Prefecture, the "Bead Brooch Kit" (two types, ¥550 each) from Setouchi Prefecture, the "Kyoto Candy Shinkansen" (¥1,000) from the ancient capital of Japan, the "Yakumo-Nuri Hand Mirror" (¥6,500) from San'in Prefecture, and the "Izumo Snacks Three-Tier Souvenir" (¥1,400).
In addition to sales on board the train, tickets will also be available for purchase online.
