This fall, Moncler will debut "Moncler M," a collaboration line with London designer Mary Katrantzou. Katrantzou was born in Athens, Greece. After studying for her bachelor's and master's degrees at Central Saint Martins, she gained experience working for designers such as Sophia Kokosalaki and Bill Blass. Her designs are characterized by colorful, realistic digital prints and structured silhouettes. Moncler M will feature quilted dresses and pants, as well as skirts and dresses with layered ruffles. In Japan, an event celebrating the Moncler M debut will be held on the first floor stage of Isetan Shinjuku on September 25th, where limited-edition items will be released in advance.
She was also selected as a supporting designer for NEWGEN (a project that supports up-and-coming British designers), run by TOPSHOP, from the 09SS to 11AW seasons, and presented a collaborative collection with TOPSHOP. In 2011, she won the British Fashion Awards Newcomer Award. She currently presents her collections in London, and this autumn/winter collection was inspired by the black and white works of photographers active at the end of the century, such as Edward Steichen, Clarence H. White, and Alfred Stieglitz.
