Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, jewelry brand CORE JEWELS held a new product launch event at Valveat 81 in Aoyama, Tokyo, on August 28th and 29th. The venue also featured an installation by photographer Daido Moriyama titled "SUBSTANCE." "Mr. Moriyama's style of capturing the true essence of things resonated with us," said Masanori Yamazaki, CEO of TSLJ Inc., founder of the brand. "Many of his works capture the streetscapes of our hometown, Shinjuku, and we wanted the exhibition to symbolize a return to our roots as a brand." The brand also announced a joint product with two other brands. The collaboration with fragment design resulted in a bracelet featuring a diamond-studded plastic cable tie clasp, making it impossible to remove once fastened. The collaboration with UNDERCOVER featured a nail-motif bracelet and a Sid & Nancy-inspired necklace with a padlock engraved with the letter "R."
New items from the main line include pinky rings and necklaces from the "CRIOUS" series, which is themed around "light," and rings and bangles from "MOBIUS," which feature a Möbius strip and the letter "X." The new "AION" series, inspired by Arabic letters, has also been added, featuring bangles, earrings, and necklaces. A special piece featuring 70 carats of black diamonds was also on display.
Other items from the "TOKYO" line, which offers leather accessories, include caps, tri-fold wallets with jewelry pockets, and eyewear.
