OPENING CEREMONY will release a collaborative collection with denim brand BIG JOHN in early October. The collection's theme is "black." Its iconic image is Johnny Cash, the singer and composer known for his penchant for black clothing and nicknamed the "Man in Black." The lineup includes modern takes on Big John's signature overalls, colored denim, and bell-toned slim jeans, as well as leather oversized chester coats, rider jackets, foil-print skirts, sweatshirts, and T-shirts. Available for both men and women, Big John was founded in Okayama in 1940 as a sewing company specializing in workwear. Following the liberalization of imports in the 1960s, the company began importing denim fabric and became the first in Japan to produce jeans. It also became the first in Japan to produce and sell colored jeans. A restructuring plan was announced in April of this year. Additionally, the Opening Ceremony Omotesando store will be holding a one-night-only autumn festival, the Fall Harvest Festival, to coincide with Fashion's Night Out on September 7th. Limited-edition items from brands such as J.W.Anderson, FLEAMADONNA, and HOUSE OF HOLLAND will be available. There will also be a chance to win a bandana by posting a snap on social media, as well as shave ice, drink service, and yo-yo games, and special guests will be in attendance. The event will be open from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
