"ABSTRACTS" is the second in a series of publications by AM Projects, a collective of photographers from various countries. To celebrate the release, a talk event featuring AM Projects member and photographer Daisuke Yokota will be held on June 27th at VACANT in Harajuku, Tokyo.

"ABSTRACTS" is a book that brings together a variety of abstract images created through photography and photographic processes. It features works by five artists: Antony Cairns, Tiane Doan na Champassak, Olivier Pin-Fat, Ester Vonplon, and Daisuke Yokota. The exhibition features a variety of works that explore the possibilities of photography, including works created without the use of a camera, using only the chemicals and photographic paper required for developing, and works that capture fragmented details from the overall image of the body, nature, or cityscape with close-up shots. The event will feature guest artist Daisuke Yokota, the only Japanese photographer affiliated with "AM Projects," for an artist talk moderated by photography critic Kenji Takazawa. The talk will cover a variety of topics, including the story behind the creation of "AM Projects," its activities, and the exhibition "ABSTRACTS" held in London and the collection of works of the same name. Approximately 30 pieces of actual film from the "Abstract" series will be on display. Following the talk, Daisuke Yokota will demonstrate the process of creating "Abstract" films. A specially created booklet, "CELL," (four versions, limited to 50 copies each), will also be available for purchase.
