American long-established premium ham brand "Honey Baked Ham" arrives in Japan for the first time

Jun 20, 2015

HoneyBaked Ham®, one of America's largest premium ham brands, will open its first Japanese store in late July in Minato Ward, Tokyo (1F, Metro City Kamiyacho, 5-1-5 Toranomon, Minato Ward, Tokyo). Founded in 1957, HoneyBaked Ham® is one of America's largest ham brands, currently operating 382 stores across the country. The stores offer ham sandwiches and other items, as well as gift and home party items. The brand's hams are made from carefully selected whole bone-in pork thighs, which are carefully aged and smoked for over 20 hours using a unique traditional method. Furthermore, the surface is coated with a "HoneyBaked Glaze," a secret blend of honey and various spices that is melted over a flame by hand, resulting in a rich, deep, and soft flavor.

The first store in Japan will sell a variety of sandwiches made with this ham. In the evening, they will offer a variety of ham dishes to go with craft beer and wine, such as hearty ham steaks and ham hors d'oeuvres. They will also sell ham in various sizes for takeout.
